What happened to me?

So on sunday i was at the beach and got a little burnt...not bad at all. I was fine for 2 days and i thought it was pretty much gone, but last night (tuesday) i got really really really itchy everywhere and i couldn't stop it...it was pretty much to the point where i wanted to tear my skin off. I tried jumping in a really cold shower but it did nothing so i filled the bath with cold water and submerged myself...again it didnt help. I got out and put aloe vera lotion on it but that didn't help either so i went and told my mom and she said i had a bunch of white bumps on my back so she ran to the store to get benodryl and aveeno while i jumped back in the bath. After about an hour of sitting in cold aveeno water and taking benodryl the itching stopped. Anyone know what happened? did i have an allergic reaction or something? I only itched where my sunburn was
