The Confederate Troops?

when you think of troops who fought and died do you ever think about the confederate troops i mean i am not a racist or anything but it seems like these men do not get any recognition i know you could say its because they seceded from the union or that they were fighting for slavery but many people in the united states have ancestors who fought for the Confederacy so my question is do you think that these men who fought so hard for their own cause and life style deserve to be recognized
