I have a slow thyroid- I'm going on medicine next week for it. Will I lose weight once it stabilizes to normal

Unfortunately you will not lose much weight contrary to popular belief. Hypothyroidism generally results in very little weight gain. However, it is very important that you take your meds as prescribed by your physician in order to prevent long term problems.
