Pure rock bands? what do you think?

i think hoobastank and rise against are the best pure rock bands there are. they hail from radically different backgrounds and minor influences, but that dosen't matter. one has kick live performances, but never gets on the radio, the other has sucky live performances, but has some radio hits under their belt. one comes from screaming punk, and made it more layered and developed and took just a little of the edge off it. the other came from bland radio rock and simplfied it and added an edge. you can diss them, but i think they are both pure rock and are both great. what do you like? what else might i like?
