Uterine ablation and fertility?

I'm 19 years old, and this past summer I had a diagnostic laparoscopy during which they removed endometrial tissue from 5 different places in my abdominal cavity. The anesthesiologist never mentioned the possibility of me needing this beforehand, but during the surgery they did a uterine ablation. I just heard from my cousin that they gave her uterine ablation as an alternative to a hysterectomy to render her infertile, because it can prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. Does this mean that the uterine ablation (which I did NOT consent to) might affect my fertility?
